Guild Design

This is a service provided that will greatly enrich your life by providing you with healthy eats most of the year.  The concept here is to provide self-sustaining (for the most part) small “island” food forest “pods” like what most people do with a non-productive tree and flowers in a front yard garden but instead use productive trees, shrubs, vines, herbs, ground covers and rhizomes (roots).

This can be done with such an arrangement a peach tree, grapes, kiwi, bush cherry, blackberry, strawberry, comfrey, basil, marigolds, calendula, and carrot or sweet potato.  Of course, there are many arrangements based on your tastes and desires.  Prices will vary depending what plants you choose, location, size, etc.  Choose options such as guild design only, design and installation or design, installation and maintenance.

A very popular guild in our area is the banana circle. You can choose whatever central element you’d like that grows in your area and I will design an entire mini-ecosystem that helps support each other for a sustainable edible landscape element.  This is a great option for those that have limited space, live in a restrictive HOA or just want to get started and are on a budget.  It will also save you money as you’ll be buying less produce from the store and will be getting a higher nutritional value in your own homegrown food!

PODS

PODS is a brand new concept I developed to be a plug and play permaculture installation.  It’s ready to go “right out of the box”, so to speak.  All system components have been carefully selected to work with each other as a mini-ecosystem that creates harmony and balance as well as food for you and habitat for beneficial insects.

This option includes everything in The Walk and Talk but after I leave I will then perform a thorough permaculture design based on your property, needs and desires.  That design will be submitted to you in person and you will have the chance to ask any questions or give any input on the design, including changing any elements you do not like.  Once we come to an agreement on design elements and locations, I will finalize the design and submit to you for implementation.

You have the option to end the process at this point or to also hire me to oversee the implementation with either your choice of contractor or mine.  Implementation can be all at once or in stages depending on budget, weather, etc.

This service is based on an hourly rate of $200/hr. Projects usually average 20 – 40 hours but can be more or less depending on the size of the property and needs/desires of the client.

UPDATE:  I am now using new software for designs making reading them even easier!  Everything has always been to scale, but now it’s easier to make out.  I am also able to generate 3D designs if needed!  Even with this upgraded software, pricing remains the same!
